VIE Mining Environment Engineer_M/F

Contract type:  VIE (European candidates)

Joint-venture between Tsingshan (majority shareholder) and Eramet, as well as PT Antam (10%). The company is building road and infrastructure and operating a mining concession (Contract Of Work) for a minimum 15 Mwmt/y of Ni ore (up to 60 Mwmt/y), while operating a 30kt Ni contained NPI plant. Total investment for these operations is valued at 525M$. The total workforce in the mining project will be between 7 000 to 9 000 persons, including contractors.

 

In the frame of the Weda Bay project in Indonesia, the jobholder is part of the PT Weda Bay Nickel Environment Division management team in order to:

 

  1. Quality control and environmental management quality analysis;

  2. Implementation of environmental management

  3. Assist in Environmental Management System development & socialization

  4. Ensure all environmental data are up to date.

  5. Ensuring the company is committed to environmental laws;

  6. Manage the monitoring plan to prevent environmental pollution;

  7. Manage hazardous materials and waste water to ensure environmental quality is under control;

  8. Prepare weekly reports to Supervisors or Managers including activities with data;

 

Key Missions:

 

  • Ensure data from water and air quality monitoring within quality standards

  • Coordinate with internal laboratories for analysis results of water monitoring samples

  • Ensure all data from monitoring results are recorded properly and neatly include data from contractors

  • Evaluating government standards used for quality standards are still relevant or not with monitoring and work planning

  • Evaluate if there is anomalous data from the results of joint monitoring with the Environmental Superintendent.

  • Ensure that the RKL-RPL document is implemented in daily, weekly, and monthly activity planning

  • Coordinate and manage environmental requirements, permits, and regulations to ensure all permits required for regulations related to environmental aspects are comply

  • Report an anomaly using the PICA (Problem Identification Corrective Action) form;

  • Reporting daily activities every week and reported to the Environmental Superintendent, if the Environmental Superintendent is currently (on leave or sick) can report directly to the HSE Manager and at CC. to the Environmental Superintendent;

  • Ensure all permits required for regulations related to environmental aspects are met;

  • Coordinate with all supervisor regarding the data field

 

Required profile:

 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in environmental engineering, computer or related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years combined experience in environment mining operations
  • Minimum 4 years of experience at a managerial level and multicultural environment
