WCP CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (M/F)

Purpose of the position:
Our Phase 2 expansion project is looking for a Construction Manager (M/F) on a fixed term contract of 18 months starting mid-August 2024 based in Diogo, Senegal with a rotational schedule status (5 weeks ON x 3 weeks OFF) for expats and residence basis status for locals.
The Construction manager will be responsible for the Expansion Project Phase 2 construction activities on the Wet Concentration Pant (WCP) when the Construction Manager is on Rest & Relaxation focusing more on the EC&I Activities.
Key focus is overseeing all site related project activities from owners’ team perspective. His/Her involvement will be from the start of Construction phase until commissioning and final handover with the red/browns fields construction and shutdowns the major focus areas.
Responsibilities:
- The role will be managing all Expansion Project site staff as well as the EP/CM teams during Construction Managers absence.
- Interfacing between GCO Operations, Expansion project team and EPCM, Construction contractors for planning and construction queries
- Manage Expansion projects worksites, coordinating activities and ensuring that all work is in sync with project goals and objectives.
- Provide direction to EP/CM site teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during construction, installation to ensure that quality standards are being met.
- Liaise with engineers, designers, operations, maintenance, and others working on a project.
- Ensure compliance to / raise concerns regarding estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
- Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues.
- Adhere to legal regulations, Safety and Quality, Mine Specifications and other requirements.
About you :
- 10 plus years of experience in management roles of large / complex international Greenfields/Brownfields construction projects.
- Extensive multi discipline knowledge of construction methods and technologies.
- Capable to interpret technical drawings, Scope of Work, Contracts and Bill of Material
- Good knowledge of specification requirements and scheduling methods
- Ability to manage multiple construction areas simultaneously with an eye for quality and safety.
- Ability to communicate and report in English, give weekly and monthly progress updates.
- Professional certification/Diploma in EC&I construction discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of Structural, EC&I installations, Mine operations, Technical Specifications, Health and Safety, Scheduling and Reporting.
