Sonic Bay Ni/Co Hydrometallurgical Production Process Optimization Internship _ M/F

Société Le Nickel (SLN) is constantly seeking to improve its mining and metallurgical processes. Laboratory tests have demonstrated the potential for enrichment of various nickel ores using JIG technology. Mineralurgical beneficiation is a solution for the valorisation of new deposits and the reduction of operating costs. Oriented towards the development of its activities and the reduction of its carbon footprint, SLN wishes to push further the development of this technology.

 

Objectives and main missions:

 

You will start this internship by familiarizing yourself with the results available on the JIG technology in internal and external databases.

  • Handling of the technology and the equipment of SLN, validation of the associated technical documentation
  • Once the main use cases have been identified, you will propose test plans to validate the main results obtained in the laboratory on a pilot scale, for each of the main deposits identified.
  • Accompanied by a team of technicians and operators, you will carry out the test plans in compliance with the group's safety rules.
  • You carry out the interpretation of the tests and adjust the experimental plan with the aim of defining, for each use case, the best operating conditions.
  • You deliver the conclusions of the tests on the technical performance of the JIG technology.
  • You consolidate the profitability analyses applicable to the different deposits studied.


Required Profile:

  • 3rd year of engineering studies. Generalist school or specialized in geology, mineralurgy - Or 2nd year of master in geology
  • Fluency in English
  • First experience and/or affinity for the industrial sector
  • Mastery of standard software: MS Office
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze, autonomy, rigor, macro-economic knowledge & in geology-mineralogy
  • Dynamism, openness and excellent interpersonal skills are essential assets to succeed in this project involving several teams
