Comilog Dunkerque alongside Eramet Norway, Eramet Marietta and Comilog’s Moanda Metallurgical Complex—is one of the Eramet Group’s manganese alloy producing plants that work in synergy in order to improve efficiency. For example, the Dunkirk plant uses by-products from Eramet Norway’s plants.
The Comilog Dunkerque facility is determined to play an active role in protecting its environment and improving its industrial practices: Comilog Dunkerque is careful to keep its energy consumption to a minimum and complies with the needs of the public power grid when required, On-site rainwater collection: a new settling pond has been built to capture and decant rainwater before it is reused in the production process, The dust emitted by the process is captured and transformed into briquettes before being recycled in the furnace.
We are looking for a Health & Safety and Quality Manager for our Dunkirk plant. As the site’s technical and scientific reference point, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the Integrated Management System (Quality, Health & Safety), in a continuous improvement approach. As the guardian of ISO certifications, you will ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards while supporting Management in its interactions with external stakeholders. Your contribution will directly impact the safety, performance, and sustainability of our production site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) covering Quality, Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001and 45001 standards.
- Define and implement the annual QHS policy in collaboration with the Site Management, in alignment with Eramet Group requirements and Management Review outcomes.
- Monitor and coordinate QHS action plans and performance, ensuring progress and continuous improvement of site practices.
- Plan, conduct, and follow up on internal and external audits, including certification and renewal audits of the IMS.
- Provide regular reporting (weekly, monthly, and annual) to the Site Management, Eramet Group, and relevant authorities on safety, environmental, and energy performance indicators.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by managing relationships and declarations with external bodies (DREAL, GEREP, GIDAF, CARSAT, etc.) and by ensuring compliance with the Prefectoral Decree.
- Oversee environmental and energy monitoring, including waste management, CO₂ tracking, and updates to the Internal Emergency Plan (PII).
- Contribute to product quality monitoring and collaborate with the Sales Department to meet customer and normative requirements.
- Promote prevention and a strong safety culture through active participation in representative bodies (CHSCT/CSR) and by validating prevention plans.
- Represent COMILOG Dunkirk in Eramet Group’s QHSE competency networks (ICG) and maintain ongoing regulatory and technical watch in your fields of expertise.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in QHSE or a general technical field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong command of management system tools and methodologies (Quality, Health & Safety).
- Solid knowledge of QHSE regulations and standards applicable to industrial sites.
- Knowledge of emergency intervention techniques.
- Professional English required (regular interactions within the Eramet Group).
- Rigorous, methodical, and well-organized in executing missions.
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership: able to listen, empower, delegate, and support teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
