ESG Coordinator

Elements of complexity
• The function requires a good understanding of environmental issues and sustainable development standards in an industrial environment located on an Indonesian island
• Ability to adapt to a diversity of normative frameworks: national legislation, international standards (World Bank/IFC/IRMA) and Eramet requirements
• Relationship skills to establish trust with a diversity of external stakeholders: lenders, local authorities, technical services, administrations, etc.
• Transversal positioning with other departments and services in particular: Project execution team, Corporate ESG team, Banks, industrial park, (and potentially local authorities), etc.
• Potential exposure to local and national administrations, local populations, and NGOs.
Main duties and responsibilities
As part of her/his missions, the Project ESG Coordinator will work in coordination with the Corporate Sustainability team to fill in the following tasks:
➢ Follow the identification and resolution of all ESG questions related to the project
➢ Explain to the project execution team the ESG issues, actions, deliverables
➢ Ensure that the project team applies the ESG requirements
➢ Coordinate the project team when an action or solution is required to address any ESG question
➢ Participate, under the leadership of the corporate sustainability team, to the definition and follow up of the ESAP (Environmental and Social Action Plan) resulting from ESIA and other studies;
➢ Identify the interface and actions required from the Project Execution Team on the ESAP, then share it with the project execution team. Explain and provide training on the ESG related challenges (explaining norms and standards, ESIA, ESAP, etc.)
➢ Define with the project execution team the dedicated action plan for project specific ESAP actions and monitor it continuously to ensure delivery on time
➢ Identify roadblocks or potential issues, and with the support of the corporate sustainability team, define actions to help project execution team solve the issues
➢ Provide the project management and the ESG management reporting on the project related actions, issues and solutions;
- Track progress on all project related ESG actions, and ensure follow up with project execution team to ensure delivery on time and according to expected quality. Alert project director in case of deviation on these actions;
- Manage the monitoring and evaluation reports of all environmental actions, integrating the regulatory indicators and those established by Eramet;
➢ And more generally
- Ensure the implementation of regulatory obligations and guarantee the robustness of environmental risk control approaches in the project execution practices and documents.
- Follow up on the management of project related environmental studies and manage the implementation of the environmental and social impact management plan with the corporate ESG team.
- Assist in identifying main environmental challenges and risks of the project and in working with the Sustainability manager to define and implement practical and sustainable (economically and technically) mitigation actions.
- Support the compliance of the project with Indonesian regulations.
- Guarantee the integration of ERAMET’s best practices in line with the timing of the project.
Profile and experience
Required skills include:
• Graduated level specialized in Environment / Sustainable Development or similar.
• Proven experience of minimum 8 to 10 years in environment management in Indonesia or similar countries on complex industrial sites, preferably within large industrial projects
• Strong belief in the environment and sustainable development
• Industrial project experience
• Fluent English, Mandarin is a plus
• Experience with Indonesian environmental authorities will be considered
• Demonstrate a visible and active commitment in Health Safety and Environment with regards to:
- personal well-being.

- continuously improve Eramet health, safety and environmental performance.
