Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves Chief Geologist W/M

In addition, ERAMET is developing major projects in new activities with high growth potential, such as mineral sands (titanium dioxide and zirconium), lithium and recycling. The Group employs about 13,000 people in 20 countries.

The Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) project is an industrial and mining project aiming to recover one of the largest nickel deposits in the world, located on the island of Halmahera in Indonesia.


As the Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves Chief Geologist, your missions will be to :

  • Supervise performance and safety KPI (employees and contractors)
  • Respect the environmental standards for the mining activity in liaison with the environmental department of Eramet
  • Oversees geological modelisation of all PT Weda Bay deposits
  • Oversees mineral resources and ore reserves estimations
  • Provides mineral resources conversion to ore reserves based on cut off value and pit designs
  • Oversees short term ore reserves estimations updates for pits in operation
  • Oversees reconciliation studies based on updated mined-out limits
  • Lead the implementation of machine learning project to improve geological modelisation
  • Lead the implementation of Sonic B drilling project to develop limonite resources in the context of the metallurgical project
  • Oversees feasibility and permitting studies as required by the Indonesian government
  • Manage the MROR geologist team, train and develop local mining engineer and geologist
  • Promote the continuous improvement in performances
  • Liaise closely with the Mining Division Management Team: VP Mining, Contract Manager, Operation Manager, Geology Manager, HSE Manager; and with Industrial Direction Teams.


For this position, we are looking a profil who has :

  • Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in MROR estimations
  • Minimum 5 years of mine site experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing geologist teams
  • Experience with MROR declarations
  • Experience in implementing of innovative modelisation and estimation solutions
