Site Document Control Officer

Location:  Halmahera,Indonesia
Contract type:  Permanent

Job purpose
• Sonic Bay project aims at developing an industrial complex in Indonesia to produce and intermediate Nickel and Cobalt concentrate from the Weda Bay ore deposit (Halmahera Island). The project scope includes an ore preparation plant, an hydrometallurgical plant using High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) technology to produce the concentrate, a power plant, a sulfuric acid plant and a tailings storage facility.
• The industrial complex will be located on the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park ( IWIP ).
Since 2019, the project is led by Eramet, the leading French Mining and Metals company, in a joint venture with BASF, a major global chemical company. Following to a successful feasibility study finalized in Q1 2022, the project is now preparing to move to project execution in Q4 2022 and target a first production in 2025. The Joint Venture is called EHN ( ERAMET HALMAHERA NICKEL )

 

Key Project dimensions
• The project will rely on ore supply from Weda Bay, a world class nickel ore deposit developed by Eramet and its partner Tsingshan, and which is expected to become in the next years the biggest nickel mine in the world
• The project’s main engineering contractors will be China based and the project will be located on Halmahera Island in Indonesia, nearby the Indonesian Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) currently being developed by Chinese company Tsingshan.
• Sonic Bay project total CAPEX is expected to be around 2 Bn$ for a ~67 kt Ni pa operation.

 

Responsibilities
• Report to the Document Controls Leader and the Construction Coordinator.
• Configure and store documents.
• Make sure contractors are using the latest revision of each document.
• Distribute supplier documents among contractors.
• Manage documentation requests.
• Archive documents in physical and digital records and ensure proper storage.
• Review and maintain the accuracy of records, editing them when necessary to ensure they are up to date.
• Liaise and distribute project-related information to all levels of the project team and external parties.
• Manage the processes around documentation within the organization.
• Maintain confidentiality around confidential documentation.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports on projects when necessary.

 

Requirements
- Experience working on on-site projects (mine). Minimum experience of 5 years in similar positions.
- Experience with document controls software such as M-File, Aconex, SharePoint, etc…
- Experience with procurement procedures, including all steps until a purchase order is placed with the supplier.
- Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
- English - Writing and Speaking Skills
- Strong IT skills in the MS office.
