Job purpose

  • Sonic Bay project aims at developing an industrial complex in Indonesia to produce and intermediate Nickel and Cobalt concentrate from the Weda Bay ore deposit (Halmahera Island). The project scope includes an ore preparation plant, and hydrometallurgical plant using High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) technology to produce the concentrate, a power plant, a sulfuric acid plant and a tailings storage facility. The industrial complex will be located on the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP ).
  • Since 2019, the project is led by Eramet, the leading French Mining and Metals company, in a joint venture with BASF, a major global chemical company. Following to a successful feasibility study finalized in Q1 2022, the project is now preparing to move to project execution in Q4 2022 and target a first production in 2025. The Joint Venture is called EHN ( ERAMET HALMAHERA NICKEL )


Key Project Dimensions
Establish and maintain scheduling functions on site, using systems and procedures to assure schedule status and progress, subcontractor progress and analysis of schedule trends for effective construction management.


• Develops optimized CPM (Critical Path Methods) sequence ensuring proper precedence of activities and also reflecting construction execution strategy
• Prepares and regularly updates construction schedule.
• Ensure adherence of sub-contractors to construction schedule targets dates and monitor sub-contractor performance in term of progress and quantities achieved are in line with project objectives
• Control & monitor subcontractor performance according to the agreed contractual schedule. Validate progress and report issued by contractor (S Curves, etc.). Prevent deviations to contract execution schedules.
• Master the scope of work of each contractor's work (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.).
• Coordinate work at site between contractors.
• Measure progress and produce internal “Adhoc” reports in complement to contractor
• Expedite design deliverables and equipment & bulk material delivery


- Preference heavy industrial or mining & metallurgical engineer.
- General engineer covering civil, foundations, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
- 10 years of experience in managing construction schedules in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Experience in the critical path method, experience in Earned Value (EVM) method is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or a master graduated
- Fluent English and Chinese
- Commitment to safety.
