Site Planning Manager

Location:  Halmahera,Indonesia

Job purpose
• Sonic Bay project aims at developing an industrial complex in Indonesia to produce nickel and cobalt salts from the Weda Bay ore deposit, where Eramet already has an operation with Chinese partners. The project scope is split between an HPAL plant to produce an intermediate Ni/Co concentrate, a Base Metal refinery section (BMR) to refine the intermediate concentrate into battery grade Ni and Co sulphate, a power plant, a sulfuric acid plant and a tailing storage facility.
• Sonic Bay project is led by Eramet, in a joint venture with BASF. The project has started with a prefeasibility study (PFS) in Q4 2020. Following favorable project conditions, it was decided to accelerate project execution and to move to the preparation of the execution phase with the setup of an EPC contract with a view to start the execution phase by mid 2023.
• Within the owner’s project team, the Site Planning Manager defines, monitors, consolidates and controls the schedule, prepares and monitors project scheduling, coordinates, optimizes the intervention of various contributors during the project, determine schedule status and progress, and analyze of schedule trends for effective project management. Takes into account changes and is able to adapt the schedule accordingly in accordance with project’s procedures.

 

Main Missions and activities
Project planning/Organization
• Prepares and regularly updates project schedule in collaboration with managers.
• Develops/review all schedule-related coding structures including activities resources sort fields; develop/review all project reporting formats
• Develops optimized CPM (Critical Path Methods) sequence ensuring proper precedence of activities and reflecting project execution strategy
• Provides all required schedule information (milestones, interfaces, durations) for all contract packages to ensure proper evaluation of quotations, comparison to target schedule and progress reporting
• Defines the methods and resources necessary to manage and control deadlines. Deploys a project progress tracking system
• Support Engineering and other functions in development of deliverables list, progress measuring system
• Coach/train team members as required


Project Controls/Coordination
• Checks the conformity of the schedules of the various participants in line with sub-contracts and project master schedule, manages relations and exchanges between them
• Chairs coordination meetings, and draws up and shares the minutes
• Monitor, verify and input of regular updates from all parties and issue all status reports
• Review the deliverable related with project schedule


Project Analyses/Adjustments
• Collects and analyses progress data, and produces monitoring documents and progress reports, propose actions and mitigation measure
• Anticipates, studies and analyses discrepancies and deviations, and identifies the consequences in terms of delays and failures
• Proposes corrective actions, adjusts schedules and alerts all the relevant stakeholders
• Support project close out activities and claim management
• Analyses risks linked to deadlines
• Perform schedule scenarios and various studies to optimize sequence

 

Requirements
• Min. bachelor degree in engineering, business administration or other related background. Master degree is a plus

• Relevant experience as Project Planning Manager in large project environment (>500M$) with large and complex industrial capital projects
• Comprehensive experience with Primavera 6 Version 8 or above.
• Fluent in English
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Metal industry experience
• PMP certificate
