Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency Lead (M/F)

Eramet Indonesia is an integral part of the Eramet. Its presence in Indonesia dates back more than 17 years, with nickel exploration investment in Central Halmahera, North Maluku, Indonesia. Eramet has partnered with Tsingshan Group in Weda Bay Nickel (WBN). With significant investments in infrastructure and modern technology, Eramet Indonesia is committed to meeting the growing demand for mineral resources and contributing to Indonesia's sustainable growth, particularly in energy transition. Responsibilities:
- GHG Emissions Data Collection and Reporting :
- Consolidate data collection and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2.
- Develop protocols for data collection and verification of Scope 3 emissions and ensure support during emissions verification audits.
- Oversee GHG emissions reporting, including compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA):
- Conduct comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with the mining and processing operations.
- Decarbonization Roadmap Development:
- Create a decarbonization roadmap outlining strategies for reducing emissions, along with technical and economic feasibility assessments of proposed decarbonization projects.
- Provide technical guidance to support the implementation of decarbonization initiatives, including renewable energy projects and the transition to an electric mobility mining fleet.
- Energy Efficiency Strategy Development:
- Develop an Energy Efficiency Strategy aimed at achieving certification for Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) to ISO 50001 standards.
- Support Energy Efficiency Projects:
- Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency projects across both the mining and smelting operations, focusing on optimizing energy use and reducing overall consumption.
- Carbon Offset and Credits Management:
- Manage carbon offset projects and develop strategies for leveraging carbon credits and international Renewable Energy Certificates (IRECs) to support emission reduction goals.
Requirement:

- Educational Background: Master's degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial decarbonization and energy efficiency, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in GHG emissions accounting, reporting (including CSRD), and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Proven track record in conducting Life Cycle Assessments to evaluate the environmental impacts of products and processes.
- Experience in developing strategic decarbonization roadmaps and ability to conduct technical and economic feasibility assessments of proposed decarbonization projects.
- Experience in implementing energy efficiency projects and strategies, with a focus on achieving ISO 50001 certification.
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of financial modeling, Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) calculations, and project feasibility assessments.
- Strong proficiency in technologies related to electrification, renewable energy, and energy efficiency measures applicable to mining operations.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks such as the CSRD, and reporting standards, including the GHG Protocol and ISO standards.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English; and Bahasa (e.g., Mandarin, is an advantage).
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Engineering Six Sigma methodologies and experience in project management.
- Background in climate risk assessment and familiarity with nature-based solutions for carbon reduction.
