Health & Safety Officer
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Field Safety Area Supervisor, the Health & Safety Officer is responsible for preventing incidents and accidents on work site by providing control, advice and support on Health & Safety matters to managers, employees and contractor personnel.
Ensure implementation and application of Health & Safety regulations, procedures, and programs.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Control and check that H&S rules are formalized, understood and applied by all personnel
- Identify, correct (in collaboration with the team involved) and report any deviation
- Stop the work when conditions are not safe, search and agree with the team involved on the safe way to restart the work
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implement Health & Safety procedures and ensure that the works are performed in compliance with the safety management system
- Promote and encourage safe practices
- Promote a culture in which H&S always comes first as a fundamental value that must never be compromised
- Encourage all members of personnel to become involved in improving safe work practices
- Participate and assist supervision in incident investigation sessions
- Follow up the implementation of corrective measures pursuant to incident investigations
- Track H&S corrective action closure for the area of responsibility, with dedicated action plan
- Assist with regards to H&S indicators, the planning and conducting of reviews and the preparation of reports
- Deliver trainings, coaching and awareness sessions
- Measure compliance with site rules, safety management plans and H&S instructions
- Assist managers, employees, and contractors with, risk analysis, training development, communication forums and means, safety field preventive tools, coaching on safe practices
- Advise managers on methods for rectifying and improving any deficiencies in the area of H&S

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Min. Bachelor Degree with 7 years' experience in Health & Safety, with at least 5 years' experience on one or several major construction projects. Preferablly, a Health & Safety technician or generalist technician with additional training relevant to the field
- Health & Safety professional with technical expertise in construction and a solid training background in project Health & Safety
- Able to speak Mandarin or English
- 80% of work time is expected on the field
