Job Description:

 

As part of its mining activities, Société Le Nickel (SLN) is looking for a Permitting Engineer for an 8-month fixed-term contract. You will be responsible for managing mining permitting applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Define the budget and optimize the necessary resources (human, technical, financial, etc.) for the execution of the mining permitting project.
  • Establish and negotiate the project implementation plan (schedule, required resources, timeframes for each phase).
  • Assemble, lead, and oversee the permitting project team (environment, long-term planning, mining center).
  • Oversee environmental baseline studies (flora, fauna, erosion, hydrology, geotechnics, etc.) and ensure validation of deliverables.
  • Develop the Avoid / Reduce / Compensate (ARC) sequence by integrating environmental constraints into mining infrastructure projects.
  • Draft and supervise the preparation of permit application files for mining works.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and represent SLN in public meetings and discussions with authorities.

 

Your Profile:

 

  • Engineering degree with a specialization in Geology or Environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mining permitting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and mining regulations.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
