Category Manager Raw Materials F/M

Job Description:
We are seeking a Raw Materials Category Manager F/M to define and deploy the Group’s sourcing strategy. As a key contributor to value creation, you will drive responsible, innovative procurement and deliver measurable savings across the Group. Reporting to the Group Energy & Raw Materials Procurement Director, you will work closely with site buyers, Industrial Operations and Technical teams. You will manage a strategic portfolio in a global and dynamic environment, securing supply sources while optimizing costs and supplier performance (safety, quality, delivery, ESG). You will also foster innovation, strong supplier partnerships, and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders. This role is based in Paris 15 and requires international travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy category sourcing strategies aligned with Group objectives, based on spend analysis, market intelligence, cost structures, supplier panels, and value-creation plans (cost, TCO, sustainability, risk).
- Ensure safety, health, and sustainability standards by integrating HSE and ESG requirements into supplier selection criteria, contracts, and performance monitoring.
- Analyze business needs at global, regional, and site level, working closely with technical, operational, and business stakeholders to identify value-creation opportunities.
- Define and manage the supplier panel for the category, including supplier mapping, market watch, qualification, evaluation, and performance benchmarking.
- Lead sourcing activities and negotiations, including RFQs/RFPs, cost analysis, preparation of negotiation strategies, and delivery of measurable savings and value.
- Formalize and manage Group framework agreements, in close collaboration with Legal, ensuring contract compliance, lifecycle management, and proper documentation in procurement tools.
- Drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for strategic suppliers, including performance KPIs, action plans, innovation initiatives, issue resolution, and internal satisfaction assessments.
- Support and coordinate site buyers, ensuring effective implementation of category strategies, coaching buyers, animating the buyer network, and monitoring KPIs.
- Contribute to budget preparation and control, ensuring cost targets are met and procurement performance is accurately tracked and reported.
- Ensure governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, including adherence to procurement policies, ethics and RSE charters, reporting, sharing best practices, and contributing to procurement and supply chain transformation projects.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree with a specialization in Procurement.
- 10–15 years of professional experience in raw materials procurement, preferably in an international industrial environment.
- Strong expertise in Category Management and sourcing strategy development.
- Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a diplomatic approach and the ability to work collaboratively and support change management within a procurement transformation program.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to define and drive a strategic vision.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and interact effectively with technical and operational teams.
- Proven negotiation skills and consensus-building capabilities within a complex, matrix organization.
- Ability to develop in-depth market knowledge and manage a supplier network effectively.
- Strong relationship-building and listening skills, enabling reliable and responsive support to internal stakeholders.
- High motivation to work in a dynamic, international environment, with a strong results-driven mindset.
- Strong commitment to integrity and business ethics.
