Chief of Staff to CFO F/M

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to the CFO who will act as a strategic partner at the intersection of finance, strategy, operations and governance. This role supports the CFO in driving the Group’s financial agenda, ensuring disciplined execution of priorities and strong alignment across the Finance organisation. It provides high-level analytical and strategic support, facilitates decision-making, and helps structure a demanding flow of topics. The Chief of Staff also coordinates key financial processes and leadership bodies, ensuring quality, coherence and timely delivery. It plays a central role in supporting the Group’s financial turnaround and long-term strategic ambition. This role is based in Paris 15.
Responsibilities:
- Support the CFO in driving the financial, strategic and operational agenda of the Group.
- Ensure follow-up and disciplined execution of priorities, action plans and cross-functional requests.
- Coordinate the Finance Leadership Team, prepare agendas and secure alignment across Finance functions.
- Monitor progress on key initiatives and address execution gaps when needed.
- Oversee core financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation and liquidity reviews.
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Strategy and Business Units to ensure coherence and quality.
- Prepare materials and messaging for the CFO’s internal and external interventions.
- Collaborate with Investor Relations, Communications and Public Affairs to ensure consistent financial communication.
- Contribute to Board and Committee preparations, drafting synthesis notes and coordinating responses to Directors.
- Represent or accompany the CFO in key meetings and ensure rigorous follow-up on decisions.
- Lead or co-lead major cross-functional projects linked to performance improvement and financial transformation.
- Support financing operations, strategic reviews and selected M&A-related financial workstreams.
- Conduct analytical deep dives, benchmarks and scenario assessments to support high-impact decisions.
- Identify emerging financial, regulatory and ESG trends relevant to the Group.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, helping to prioritise topics, challenge assumptions and remove obstacles.
Your profile:
- Graduate of a leading business school, engineering school, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in finance, strategy, consulting, banking, or corporate finance functions.
- Strong financial literacy: ability to interpret financial statements, understand market dynamics, and challenge modelling assumptions.
- Experience in a listed corporate environment is a strong asset; exposure to extractive industries or industrial groups is a plus.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Discretion, integrity and impeccable judgment.
- Curiosity, intellectual agility, and the ability to challenge constructively.
- Diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire trust and navigate sensitive matters with professionalism.
