Planning Engineer

Main Missions and activities
Planning/Organization
- Prepares and regularly updates project schedule in collaboration with all related persons.
- Develops/review all schedule-related coding structures including activities resources sort fields; develop/review all project reporting formats
- Develops optimized CPM (Critical Path Methods) sequence ensuring proper precedence of activities and also reflecting project execution strategy
- Provides all required schedule information (milestones, interfaces, durations) for all contract packages to ensure proper evaluation of quotations, comparison to target schedule and progress reporting
- Defines the methods and resources necessary to manage and control deadlines. Deploys a project progress tracking system
- Support Engineering and other functions in development of deliverables list, progress measuring system
- Coach/train team members as required
Controls/Coordination
- Checks the conformity of the schedules of the various participants in line with sub-contracts and project master schedule, manages relations and exchanges between them
- Chairs coordination meetings, and draws up and shares the minutes
- Monitor, verify and input of regular updates from all parties and issue all status reports
- Review the deliverable related with project schedule
Analyses/Adjustments
- Collects and analyses progress data, and produces monitoring documents and progress reports, propose actions and mitigation measure
- Anticipates, studies and analyses discrepancies and deviations, and identifies the consequences in terms of delays and failures
- Proposes corrective actions, adjusts schedules and alerts all the relevant stakeholders
- Support project close out activities and claim management
- Analyses risks linked to deadlines
- Perform schedule scenarios and various studies to optimize sequence
Profile and experience
Essential
- Bachelor or Master graduate of science, or engineering.
- Relevant experience as Project Planning engineer in large project environment (>500M$) with large and complex industrial capital projects
- Comprehensive experience with Primavera 6 Version 8 or MS project.
- Diverse international experience, specifically in working with Western Owners, Chinese engineering / construction contractors and equipment suppliers
- Fluent English is required
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment (China, Indonesia, France...)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
