Project Package Director
Main purposes of the job
- Support the FID preparation (Final Investment Decision) of the project, by finalizing the project execution mandate:
- Objectives, scope and deliverables of the project
- Project governance
- Internal/external organization and resources
- Implementation strategy, including procurement
- Planning
- Budget
- Ensure the proper execution of the project mandate, in compliance with Group rules, including in particular
- The definition and implementation of the package organization in accordance with each development phase
- The monitoring and reporting of costs
- Follow-up of the project planning
- The reporting of the project progress in the dashboard for COPIL and the BU SVP.
- Establish and lead a package team, located mainly in China and Indonesia, to carry out activities related to the execution of the package.
- Ensure the proper compliance with the Project HSE policy for project employees and subcontractors with the objective of having zero reportable incidents.
- Adhere to the project quality management programme which includes the monitoring and approving project changes.
- Contribute to the control of technical risks through the control of the relevance and implementation of the R&D and management program by relying on Eramet Ideas and partners/suppliers (engineering,...)
- In collaboration with Project Department Directors, implement and maintain the procedures and execution plan for engineering, purchasing & procurement, project control, construction and pre-operational audits functions.
- In collaboration with risk management, implement and maintain a project risk and opportunity management system.
- Provide input for reporting including monthly reports, data for the Steering Committee and multidisciplinary coordination with the functional participants in the project.
Profile and experience
For this position, it is necessary to have a profile of minimum 15 years of experience in leading and managing large industrial projects during the execution phases is a must have.
Experience of driving a successful Tailings or HPAL or Sulfuric Acid Plant or Power Plant project for metals, with an EPC or EPCM contractor, preferably Chinese, is a strong plus.
Experience in running a project with a true international scope is a must have, with Chinese suppliers or partners, is a strong plus.
Experience in Asia and knowledge of Chinese culture would be a plus.
A general engineering education profile is preferable with a strong appetite for the industrial sector.
Bilingual English or native English is essential.
An even approximate command of Chinese Mandarin would be a plus.
