Eramet Norway is a world-leading producer of manganese alloys for the global steel industry. The company is fully owned by the French mining and metallurgical group Eramet.

Responsibilities and tasks for the position:

The role will ensure legal correctness, commercial balance, risk control, and compliance with applicable laws, internal governing documents, and procurement standards. This involves controlling contract risks during the execution phase and acting as a business partner working closely with operational teams on contract follow-up. The position is locally based within the procurement and operations environment at Eramet Norway AS’s three plants.
 
The position reports locally to the Purchasing Director at Eramet Norway and to the Head of Contracting and Litigation in Paris, serving as a local professional resource for contracts and legal matters. The role collaborates closely with the Group’s legal department to ensure high contract quality, effective risk control, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and group requirements.
 
The Contract Manager is responsible for:
  • Preparing, managing, and following up on Eramet Norway’s commercial contracts throughout the entire contract lifecycle – from strategy and negotiations to follow-up, amendments, and termination.
  • Actively supporting the negotiation and follow-up of Eramet Norway’s strategic contracts.
  • Leading the handling of commercial claims, disputes, and litigation affecting Eramet Norway.
  • Strengthening awareness regarding contractual risk within Eramet Norway and the commercial organization.
In addition to the above, the position shall:
  • Support Eramet Norway units in contract strategy, risk assessments, and commercial trade-offs.
  • Follow up on contracts throughout their lifespan, including changes, deviations, complaints, and any disputes.
  • Identify and manage operational, financial, and legal risks in collaboration with relevant internal functions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Group’s legal department.
  • Contribute to the improvement of contract processes and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Master of Laws (Master i rettsvitenskap / cand.jur.) or similar, with solid expertise in Norwegian contract law.
  • Preferably 5–10 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial law, or a similar role.
  • Experience from industry, energy, or large corporations is an advantage.
  • Strong commercial and operational understanding.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and proficient in English, both written and oral.
