Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

BRINE  REINJECTION  AND  HYDROGEOLOGY  MANAGER  M/F

Description:

The role is responsible for planning, leading, and executing the entire project for reinjection of depleted brines from lithium production, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and in full compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role is critical to ensuring environmental licensing and the long-term sustainability of Eramine's lithium operations in Salta, Argentina.

This position reports to: CTO Director

Location: Centenario - Ratones Project, Province of Salta, Argentina.

Responsabilities: 

  • Develop and manage the integrated project plan (scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality).
  • Lead project risk management, including technical risks (blockage, scaling), environmental risks, and schedule risks.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to the Project Steering Committee (SteerCo) and CTO leadership.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with key engineering and drilling service providers.
  • Oversee all hydrogeological studies, aquifer characterization, and predictive modeling (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW).
  • Approve well design, completion strategies, and surface facility specifications in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous monitoring, verification, and reporting (MVR) protocols for injection performance and environmental protection.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with environmental authorities (e.g., Mining Secretariat, Aguas de Salta).
  • Ensure all project activities comply with national and provincial regulations in Argentina (Law 24.585, Mining Code, etc.).
  • Develop and present all required documentation for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and specific reinjection permits.
  • Develop communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate technical meetings with corporate experts and local teams.
  • Support community relations efforts by providing clear technical explanations about the project's safety and environmental controls.

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Hydrogeology, Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Specialization in groundwater flow, reservoir modeling, or geochemistry is a plus.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience managing complex technical projects, with at least 3 years specifically in hydrogeology, brine/injection projects, or reservoir engineering within the mining, oil and gas, or geothermal sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a project through environmental permitting processes in Argentina or similar jurisdictions (Chile, Bolivia).
