Control Process Engineer W/M

Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

 

Responsibilities : 
The tasks representing the major responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Ensure the continuity operational of the plant control system.
  • Maintain the plant control and historization system, carrying out continuous checks on communications, process capacities and information storage spaces.
  • Ensure the information of applications and computers through backup processes.
  • Perform failure/root cause analysis of the equipment of their specialty, and when required, in investigations of incidents with an impact on the quality of operations and safety of people and equipment, in order to determine the corrective or strategic actions that can be implemented in the control system, to avoid repetition throughout the work environment.
  • Design and keep updated and organized the documents (standards, procedures, instructions, standard maintenance routines, manuals, among others) that support the standards of the work performed.
  • Monitor and assist operational personnel in the implementation of new technologies, methodologies and processes, in their field of specialization in order to contribute to the optimization of management, optimizing operating costs and ensuring the technical quality of the work.
  • Contribute as a technical reference, in the designs of incumbency, pre-commissioning, commissioning and commissioning of new or modified facilities, in order to ensure compliance with the requirements of availability, reliability, and maintainability defined in the bases of Designs or previous stages of Engineering of each project.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical specifications and Inspect Service Contracts related to the function of Process Control Engineering.
  • Analyze, generate and maintain the department's KPIs, contribute to the implementation of Certification Standards.
  • Work always in base of procedures and in case of executing a new task, develop the procedure for its documentation.
  • Contribute to the implementation of occupational health and safety standards and procedures, carrying out interactions, BBS, Suggestions, etc.
  • Contribute to environmental standards by conscientiously participating in the tasks that the company carries out in order to avoid incidents or accidents.

 

About you:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A least 5/10 years of experience in Control Process or Automatization role.
  • High knowledge in development controls in PLC & SCADA/HMI & Historian & Industrial devices (VFD, Tesys-t, …)
  • High experience in troubleshooting and maintain in operational conditions Process Control Systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Industrial Network (LAN, VLAN, MRP, Spanning Tree, QoS)
  • Strong understanding of the Production Process
  • Experience in OT equipment installation and configurations.
  • Experience running Control Process Systems in Operation mode.
  • Ability to identify process improvement points.
  • English and spanish: advanced

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
