International volunteering - how does it work?
Context:
ERAMET is developing a lithium carbonate production project in the province of Salta, Argentina, to meet the growing demand of the battery market. This project involves the construction of a plant located at high altitude, near the lithium mine, designed to produce a significant amount of lithium carbonate annually.
Purpose of the role:
As part of this project, ERAMET is recruiting an Electrical Engineer (VIE) for a 12-month assignment, renewable up to 24 months. Under the supervision of the Electrical and Automation Lead Engineers, the engineer will actively participate in the preparation and commissioning of the plant's electrical, instrumentation, and automation (EIA) systems. The position is based in the ERAMINE office in Salta, with frequent work periods at the plant site.
Location: Salta - Argentina
Estimated start date : as soon as possible
Duration : 12 months
Travels: Every week to Centenario first, then in commissioning phase 7x7 (7 days at Centenario x 7 days off)
Main tasks:
- Prepare the commissioning of Electrical Instrumentation Automation systems:
- Participate in the review of engineering studies (HV/LV electrical distribution, instrument lists, PLC hardware, and I/Os).
- Define detailed commissioning activities and establish the schedule with the commissioning team.
- Assist the automation team in platform testing of the automation system (PLCs, SCADA, MES).
- Participate in factory tests of prefabricated electrical rooms (Schneider Brazil – 10 rooms planned).
- Carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning activities:
- Supervise the progressive commissioning of installations until full operational capacity is achieved.
- Oversee the start-up of utilities (power generation, water treatment, etc.).
Your Profile:
Field: Electrical Engineering
Education Level: Master’s degree (Bac +5)
Experience: First experience in engineering and/or mechanical equipment production.
Technical Skills: Expertise in electrical systems.
Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work independently quickly
Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.
