Environmental & Permitting Manager
Salta, AR
Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.
Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.
Environmental & Permitting Manager
The Environmental & Permitting Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing Eramine's environmental and permitting strategy, ensuring compliance with the Eramet Group's sustainability objectives, applicable regulations, and internationally recognized standards.
Location: Salta City (50%) / Ratones Site (50%)
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the environmental management and permitting strategy for Eramine's operations and projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation and international standards such as IFC and IRMA.
- Lead relationships with national and provincial authorities, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support environmental teams across different projects and operations, promoting standardization of practices and capability development.
- Oversee the planning and monitoring of environmental permits, ensuring alignment with operational and development needs.
- Monitor the organization's environmental performance through indicators, audits, and assurance processes.
- Identify environmental risks and promote the implementation of mitigation measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the achievement of the Eramet Group's sustainability and corporate responsibility commitments.
Candidate Profile
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- More than 15 years of experience in environmental management and permitting within the mining, oil & gas, or large-scale industrial sectors.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activities across multiple projects.
- Strong knowledge of Latin American environmental legislation and international standards (IFC, IRMA).
- Experience managing relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and institutional stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Strong leadership capabilities, strategic vision, and the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in international and multicultural environments
