Export Customs Officer

Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in the province of Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities began 12 years ago, and at the end of 2019, our pilot plant began operating, demonstrating the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.

Export Customs Officer

Description:

Responsible for the correct execution of the export process in accordance with current legislation (Customs, BCRA, Ministry of Mining, Ministry of Commerce, RENPRE, etc.) and within Eramine's policies, to ensure the flow of lithium carbonate from the plant to the port, in accordance with Eramet's requirements.

Reports to: International Trade Manager

Location: Salta Office

Responsibilities:

Export flow management: Experience ensuring the correct execution of the outbound flow, including coordination of ground logistics, issuance of shipping documents, export duty payment requests, container filling, and customs clearance up to FOB.
Customer and stakeholder relations: Ability to act as the main point of contact with customers to manage requests, complaints, and suggestions, coordinating internally with the relevant areas to provide timely responses and solutions.
Process optimization and indicator monitoring: Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in export processes, reducing lead times and costs, updating KPI reports, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
Coordination of logistics operators and financial control: Experience in ensuring the continuous service of customs agents, carriers, and other logistics operators; managing budget-aligned requisitions, tracking approvals, controlling purchase orders, certifying services, and payments.
Regulatory compliance and import support: Knowledge to maintain up-to-date tracking tools, report on the status of shipments, assist with export duty payments and customs closures in compliance with AFIP and Central Bank regulations, and support the team in import processes.

Your profile:

  • Education: University degree in Foreign Trade.
  • Language: Fluent English (mandatory).
  • Experience: At least 2 years in similar positions (preferably in the mining/gas industry, but not essential).
  • Systems: Experience in SAP, ideally in the Sales and Distribution (SD) module.
  • Additional knowledge: Experience in other areas of the supply chain will be highly valued.
  • Skills: Continuous improvement mindset, results- and customer-oriented, proactive, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Travel availability: Travel to Rosario (main port of departure for lithium carbonate) may be required.
  • Site visits: Travel to the site once a month will be required to work with different stakeholders, improve outflow, and support customer needs.
