Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a global French mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, at 3,800 meters above sea level, in the Los Andes department, Salta province, Argentina. Exploration activities began 12 years ago and, at the end of 2019, our pilot plant began operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.

Head of IT/OT

Description:
The Head of IT/OT is primarily responsible for the strategic management of all digital systems, including enterprise information technology, IT infrastructure, OT systems, process control, and full plant automation.

They will lead and manage the digital solutions of a 100% automated plant, ensuring performance, safety, reliability, and compliance with environmental standards, in line with the Group’s Information Systems strategy and operational needs.

Location: Salta.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Governance: Define and implement the company’s digital and technology strategy, optimizing automation, security, and sustainability, and establishing standards, policies, and processes in extreme environments.

  • Team Management: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (35 people) in IT, OT, automation, digitalization, and cybersecurity, fostering innovation, continuous training, and a strong culture of operations and safety.

  • Financial and Project Management: Oversee operational and technology project budgets, ensuring their execution on time, within cost, and to scope.

  • IT and OT Infrastructure: Oversee the fully automated infrastructure (industrial networks, SCADA, PLCs, IoT), ensuring the stability, security, and resilience of critical systems.

  • Digital Transformation and Automation: Introduce Industry 4.0 technologies (AI, predictive maintenance, advanced analytics), support full process automation, and provide support in key functional areas.

  • Cybersecurity, Data, Safety, and Compliance: Implement cybersecurity and data governance strategies, ensure safe and reliable operations, and guarantee compliance with environmental, regulatory, and safety standards in lithium mining.

Your Profile:

Education:
Engineering degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or Master’s in Business Administration and Management.

Experience:
15 years of experience managing complex IT/OT systems, ideally in the mining industry or a heavy industrial sector.

Leadership and Management:
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams (50 people), ability to unite, motivate, and develop a technical team in a complex environment, strategic leadership, and influencing skills.

Technical Skills:
Mastery of IT and OT systems (SCADA, PLC, IoT, industrial networks); knowledge of industrial automation, Industry 4.0, IoT, and AI; knowledge of cybersecurity infrastructures applied to industrial systems; management of large technology projects and integration of complex equipment.

Additional Experience:
Experience in the mining industry or heavy industrial sectors; knowledge of environmental issues; experience managing large budgets (operational + projects).

Project Management Competencies:
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets. Ability to evolve the digital strategy according to operational needs; ability to lead change management processes.

Excellent communication skills, innovative mindset, and ability to anticipate technological trends; resilience, autonomy, and adaptability; results, service, and organizational orientation.
