Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a global French mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Centenario Ratones Salt Flat, at 3,800 meters above sea level, in the Los Andes department, Salta province, Argentina.

Exploration activities began 12 years ago, and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operations, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with over 90% direct extraction efficiency.

Head of Sustainability

Description:
The Head of Sustainability at Eramine defines the sustainability strategy to position Eramine before society as a whole and the communities (both direct and indirect). They preserve the company’s reputation and support its development within stakeholder groups, communities, and institutions, while ensuring compliance with environmental obligations and regulations and the application of IRMA standards.

Location: Salta – Office
Reports to: CEO of Eramine and functionally to the Eramet Environmental Director.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Eramine General Manager and the Group Environmental Director, and in coordination with the Eramine management team, the Head of Sustainability will be responsible for:

  • Providing management with a consolidated vision of ESG performance, anticipating regulatory changes, and ensuring the integration of sustainable development requirements and internal standards.

  • Leading the achievement of IRMA certification, monitoring regulatory and technical developments, and ensuring compliance with international CSR principles to maintain mining permits.

  • Managing stakeholder relations: building trust relationships, facilitating constructive dialogue, handling external complaints, and coordinating community actions with the management team.

  • Developing risk tools and maps, proposing mitigation strategies, and protecting corporate reputation against controversies.

  • Designing, implementing, and coordinating energy efficiency measures, supervising and communicating results to internal and external audiences.

  • Leading the internal expert network, sharing best practices, and strengthening collaboration with corporate areas such as Environment, Social Impact, and Human Rights.

  • Maintaining a high level of expertise to respond to legislative changes, leading teams with high standards, and ensuring continuous improvement in all areas under their responsibility.

Your Profile:

  • University degree (5 years) in fields related to Environment and a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental and social issues, preferably in the mining industry.

  • Mastery of international standards (IFC, IRMA, ICMM), with experience in their implementation or deep knowledge of them.

  • Ability to teach, summarize, organize, convince, and engage in dialogue with communities and stakeholders.

  • Strong collaboration skills, networking abilities, and firm defense of environmental and social principles.

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, along with excellent writing and presentation skills.
