Health & Safety Manager
Salta, AR
Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.
Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.
HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER (M/F)
Description:
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation, operation, monitoring, and continuous review of Eramine’s Health & Safety Management System, with the objective of achieving zero incidents, zero harm to personnel, and zero damage to property. The role provides functional H&S support across all operations, administrative functions, and the broader organization, including employees and contractors.
Reporting line: Safety Director
Location: Centenario–Ratones Site, Argentina
Work schedule: 7x7 roster
Key Responsabilities
- Lead and align the site H&S team, reinforcing ethical conduct, compliance, and required safety behaviors.
- Demonstrate, promote, and model the company’s core values across people and work teams.
- Implement and monitor the Health & Safety Management System, including Safe Work Plans and Procedures.
- Actively promote the H&S Management System through visible leadership and a people-centered approach.
- Foster strong safety awareness and accountability at all organizational levels.
- Review company activities to ensure compliance with H&S policies, plans, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Ensure contractor H&S activities comply with company H&S policies and plans, contractual requirements, and local HSE regulations.
- Ensure hazards and risks associated with company and contractor activities are properly identified, assessed, and controlled.
- Compile, analyze, and communicate H&S statistics and performance indicators effectively.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, documented, implemented, and tested.
- Develop site-specific safety procedures in collaboration with the site team to address identified hazards and risks.
- Ensure the effective implementation and operation of the contractor management system.
- Establish and maintain tools for tracking accident and incident investigations, ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Promote methodologies for sharing H&S lessons learned across the organization.
- Manage and support any H&S-related processes or tasks required by Eramet.
Profile Requiremnts:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent, with additional professional qualifications in H&S and Safety Management Systems.
- Valid professional license to practice in the Province of Salta.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial Safety within mining, chemical, petrochemical, or similar industrial operations.
- Practical knowledge of Health & Safety Management Systems and incident investigation methodologies.
- Strong experience working with external contractors and developing successful H&S programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance practices, processes, and standards.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and medical practices, processes, and standards.
- Proven experience as an accident investigator with expertise in root cause analysis techniques.
- Languages: Advanced Spanish level (mandatory). Advanced level of English (desirable).

- Lead Auditor – Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001).
- Lead Auditor – Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
- Lead Auditor – Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
- Registered Industrial Accident Investigator
