Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER

Description:

  • Assume the role of leader of the H&S structure on site, planning and implementing the Company's Management System. Lead the team in charge, promoting a culture of risk prevention in all areas of interaction and strategic partners, in accordance with the company's policies of zero incidents and continuous improvement.
  • This position reports to: H&S Director.

Location: Salta, Argentina. Salar Centenario-Ratones Project.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the reference on H&S issues for peers in operational areas and other sector leaders. Maintain permanent communication with them, in order to analyze and obtain the necessary information for the continuous improvement of H&S aspects in the company's operations and projects.
  • Provide technical advice to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Actively participate in the planning stages of projects and operations providing support on H&S issues.
  • Coordinate and ensure the execution of inspections and audits of contractors, operations, facilities and processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of H&S standards, procedures and guidelines across the Company's operations and projects.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of the H&S Management System according to ISO Standards, corporate standards and industry best practices.
  • Ensure efficient contractor management from H&S perspective; participate in pre-qualification, selection, monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of internal H&S and contractors.
  • Provide support to other areas of the Company in the investigation of incidents.
  • Ensure efficient management of action plans in the corporate SAFEE tool.
  • Advise operational and project areas in the identification of hazards and H&S risk assessment associated with their operations.
  • Ensure the identification and compliance of H&S legal requirements before the Enforcement Agencies and Authorities. Audit and report internal non-compliances.
  • Audit and evaluate the compliance and level of implementation of H&S standards in the Company's operational areas
  • Identify H&S training and coaching needs at different levels and areas, developing and executing appropriate plans based on these needs.
  • Lead and/or facilitate H&S Committees in different areas of the company.
  • Develop proactive and reactive H&S indicators. Detect trends and propose measures to reverse them.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of adequate emergency plans and drills in all areas of the Company.
  • Advise in responding to stakeholder (community, surface, etc.) consultation on H&S issues.
  • Advise the HSS Director on specific and technical issues.


Your profile:

  • University graduate of: Environmental Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Hygiene and Safety, Labor Engineering or other engineering specialties (industrial, chemical, etc.) with postgraduate studies in HSE and a verifiable career development oriented to this specialty.
  • Registered in the Professional Association (COPAIPA).
  • Minimum required experience of 10 years or more in the area in the mining, chemical or oil and gas industry.
  • Availability and medical aptitude to work at the mining site located in Salar de Ratones (in a 1x1 roster diagram).
  • English language proficiency (oral and written).
