Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.
Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.
MAINTENANCE MANAGER M/F
Description:
The primary responsibility of this role is to maximize the operational effectiveness of assets through the implementation and execution of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies. The position aims to optimize Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), ensure mechanical and electrical integrity, and minimize total maintenance costs without compromising safety or product quality.
This position reports to the Maintenance Director.
Location: Centenario–Ratones Project, Salta, Argentina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies (RCM, PMO, CBM).
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Coordinate plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities, managing scope, schedules, resources, and contractors.
- Monitor and manage maintenance KPIs (availability, MTBF/MTTR, plan compliance, costs, failures).
- Manage spare parts and technical warehouse operations, including classification, stock levels, suppliers, and lead times.
- Implement and maintain SAP PM, ensuring accurate master data and reliable reporting.
- Lead reliability analyses (RCA, FMEA/FMECA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety and environmental regulations, and support CAPEX projects related to asset management.
Profile Requirements:
- Engineering degree; postgraduate studies and/or certifications (CMRP, ISO 55001, NDT, PLC) and advanced use of CMMS and technical software
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in supervisory or managerial roles within chemical plants, metallurgical mining, or continuous process industries
- Specific experience in lithium carbonate plants, hydrometallurgy, or salt production is highly valued.
- Proven experience in mechanical integrity, corrosion management, material selection, and fatigue analysis.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, evaporators, and crystallization systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems (MV/LV), motors, VFDs, and electrical protection.
- Experience with instrumentation, process control systems, PLC/DCS, and industrial networks.
- Proficiency in predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, lubrication analysis, NDT).
- Familiarity with ASME, API, IEC/IEEE, ISO 55000 standards and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including shutdown management, contractor oversight, CAPEX management, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Languages: Advanced Spanish level (mandatory). Intermediate English level (desirable).
