Plant Operator Ramp-Up
Salta, AR
Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.
Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.
Plant Operator
Purpose of the position:
Reporting to the Plant Supervisor the Plant Operator will be responsible for controlling, operating and maintaining the production system, ensuring proper functioning of processes and handling of chemicals (such as Soda Ash, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, solvents, preservatives, etc.). This must be done according to the operating procedures and current regulations, to support the main process of the plant. In addition, you will collaborate with the maintenance team in preventive and corrective actions, monitoring and recording key productivity indicators (KPI).

- Location: Salar Centenario Ratones - Salta, Argentina.
Responsibilities:
- Your role will be to start up, stop, operate, recognize alarms and anomalous situations related to equipment, report to supervision for decision making and corrective actions thereon jointly to ensure availability and efficiency. At the same time he/she shall:
- Adhere to safety, health, environmental and security policies and operating procedures, and ensure proper handling of hazardous substances (Chemicals and fuels).
- Be familiar with the Scada system, the process in charge and operate devices, monitoring critical parameters and performing corrective actions when necessary.
- Work as part of a team and maintain fluid communication with supervisors and other sectors, collaborate with maintenance, participate in safety meetings and emergency response.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to optimize operations and meet or exceed KPIs.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the facility, assist in the creation of operating procedures, and aspire to operational excellence and personnel management.
- Remotely monitor the operation of pumps, agitators, filters, centrifuge, process tanks, in-line variable measurement equipment.
Profile:
- Secondary or tertiary education, preferably Chemical Technician or Mining, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical or Electronic Technician.
- Experience at least 2 years in operation of production plants and/or auxiliary services.
- Availability to work in Puna.
- Basic/intermediate English level.
- Office package management.
- Knowledge of and commitment to safety standards.
- Monitoring of efficiency and quality indicators.
- Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental management systems; application of internal plant procedures; computer systems for operation, safety, technical documentation control; administrative management system.
