Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

 

Project Director W/M

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Leadership & gouvernance

- Define and implement the overall execution strategy for CLP1.5 Stage 1.

- Lead and structure the Owner’s Project Team and ensure alignment across all project functions; clearly define roles, responsibilities and delegation frameworks across all project functions.

- Empower direct reports and develop a culture of ownership and individual accountability within the team.

- Ensure project governance, reporting and decision-making processes are effectively implemented.

- Ensure project objectives are achieved in terms of HSE, quality, cost and schedule.

 

  • Budget & Schedule Management

- Hold full accountability for delivering the project within the approved budget (circa USD 350–400M CAPEX) and schedule commitments.

- Define and maintain robust cost and schedule control frameworks; monitor deviations and lead corrective actions proactively.

- Report project financial and schedule performance to senior management and corporate stakeholders with full transparency.

- Manage contingency allocation and change management processes in close coordination with the Project Control Manager.

 

  • Project execution & coordination

- Supervise engineering, procurement, construction, operational readiness and permitting activities.

- Coordinate interfaces between project activities and ongoing CLP1 operations.

- Manage interfaces with engineering companies, contractors and consultants.

 

  • Risk management & operational integration

- Coordinate project risk identification and mitigation activities.

- Lead arbitrations between production constraints, tie-ins and project execution priorities.

- Ensure operational readiness and commissioning preparation are integrated into project execution.

 

Your profile:

 

  • Degree in engineering
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in industrial project execution and management.
  • Strong experience managing large industrial or mining projects (>USD 300M).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering major projects on time and within budget; proven ability to manage cost and schedule control in complex execution environments.
  • Experience in hydrometallurgy, lithium or chemical process industries strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in multicultural and international environments.
  • Strong understanding of brownfield project execution constraints.
  • Experience managing Owner’s teams, EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading large multidisciplinary teams, with a strong and proven capacity to delegate effectively and develop direct reports.
  • Fluent English and Spanish required (oral and written).
