Senior Instrumentation Technician (M/F)
Salta, AR
Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.
Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency.
SENIOR INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN (M/F)
Description:
The Senior Instrumentation Technician is responsible for performing corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance calibrations of plant instrumentation in order to ensure operational continuity and reliability.
Reporting line: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Centenario–Ratones Project, Salta, Argentina
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on field instrumentation installed at the plant.
- Install, remove, maintain, calibrate, and commission field measurement instruments, including primary measuring elements, transmitters, and final control elements, whether pneumatic, electronic, or hydraulic, in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
- Execute maintenance tasks on equipment such as temperature sensors (RTDs, thermocouples, thermistors), thermometers, pressure gauges, temperature, pressure and flow transmitters, volumetric and mass flow meters, density meters, pH sensors and transmitters, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and conductivity sensors, control valves with pneumatic or electric actuators, hydraulic actuators, and dosing pumps.
- Analyze risks associated with maintenance activities, performing Take Five, Job Safety Analysis (JSA/AST), and special work permits when required, ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards and minimizing risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
- Interpret manuals, P&IDs, instrument installation drawings, equipment breakdowns, calibration procedures, configurations, and wiring diagrams to ensure proper operation.
- Review and analyze technical information related to plant assets within the area of responsibility to gain comprehensive knowledge and improve the quality of executed work.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) activities for instrumentation-related equipment failures.
- Document all maintenance, calibration, and repair activities in SAP work orders to maintain accurate equipment history.
- Record task notifications and follow up on completed work in SAP.
- Monitor instrumentation and spare parts inventory in SAP; notify the supervisor in case of low stock or shortages.
- Verify and receive spare parts, tools, and consumables related to the instrumentation area.
Profile Requirements:
- Technical degree in Electronics or Electromechanics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles within operations or industrial services environments.
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Availability to work at height and/or in remote locations.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SAP PM (desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license category E (desirable).
- Languages: Advanced Spanish level (mandatory).
