The Manganese Alloys (Mn) business unit of Eramet has 5 pyrometallurgical plants in Europe and the United States to transform the ore into alloys.

With 804 employees, our plants produced 745 kt of manganese alloy in 2023. Our ambition is to reach 800 kt by 2026.

In Norway, production capacity is spread over three plants at Sauda (180 employees), Porsgrunn (146 employees) and Kvinesdal (228 employees), manufacturing alloys for steel production with a nominal production capacity of 555 kt.

In the United States in Marietta (180 employees), Eramet is North America's leading producer of manganese alloys and the only producer of ferromanganese in the country, with a nominal production capacity of 120 kt.

In France, the Dunkerque plant (70 employees) produces silicomanganese, which offers mechanical properties including steel strength, with a nominal production capacity of 70 kt.

We're seeking a dedicated Safety Director to lead safety initiatives across our Manganese Alloys (Mn) business unit in Norway, France, and the United States. As the Mn Alloys Safety Director, you'll collaborate with Plant Directors and HSE Managers to ensure compliance with safety standards and drive a culture of safety excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align site safety roadmaps with group objectives.
  • Lead safety projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and support safety training programs.
  • Coordinate policy deployment and audits.
  • Mentor and develop site Safety Managers.

 

Requirements:

  • Expertise in safety management systems.
  • Experience in industrial safety leadership.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Language proficiency in English; Norwegian/French a plus.
  • Engineering or Master's degree with relevant experience.
