Automation & Instrument Engineer
Major Responsibilities / outputs
The electrical engineer is part of the Project Engineering team to:

- Assist Project Engineering Manager in consolidating the design criteria in automation and instrument scope and ensure compliance during detailed design
- Represent the automation and instrument practice in project engineering coordination/technical meetings
- Maintain close coordination, between the automation and instrument team and other disciplines, of all activities being performed as the design evolves
- Ensure compliance, for his/her area of expertise, with Project Minimum Owner Requirement in terms of HSE, standards, scope and quality
- Develop an automation and instrument work plan as input to the project specific engineering execution plan
- Work with the project EPC contractor team during the engineering development and carry out reviews as per project requirements

- Review the automation and instruments design criteria documents
- Review the automation and instruments engineering and design standards
- Review the automation and instruments technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.)

- Assist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures
- Participate in ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) activities of automation system and instruments when required
- Check the interface between automation & instrument and the electrical part and particularly:

- The interface with electric panels, MCC & local Boxes
- the interface with connection boxes and remote I/Os
- Cabling & electromagnetic compatibility

- Organize the field engineering team for automation and instrument part, help the construction team and ensure construction compliance with designed standards
- Organize the site commissioning of different process shops in collaboration with the commissioning manager
Knowledge and skills
Automation & Instrument Engineer with at least 10 years of proven experience in Mining and Metals industry CAPEX Projects
Experience working on large or complex projects in a multidisciplinary environment (>200M$ preferred)
Good communication skills and diverse international experience, specifically in working with Western companies, Chinese engineering / construction contractors and automation&instruments suppliers
Written and spoken fluency required in English & Chinese, Spanish is a plus
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment (France, China, Argentina)
Ability to work in autonomy
