Project cost control engineer

Location:  Shanghai,China
Contract type:  Permanent

Major Responsibilities / outputs

 

§ To assist Project Control Manager in implementing, maintaining and updating the cost control procedures for the project, coordination with internal and external stakeholders and ensure their on-time distribution

§ To define cost codes in accordance with Project Work Breakdown Structure

§ To help Project Control Manager and / or Eramet Corporate colleagues in implementing Cost Control System selected for the project if required

§ To consolidate cost related data and ensure at all times the consistency of cost control/estimate and expenses scheduling

§ To validate and review Contractors’ payment requests and change order in the system and track properly all those changes and associated costs

§ To certify invoices for the project if required by the Owner:

ü Prepare and submit (in the system) for invoice payment certificates. Follow up on approval status and contact approvers if there are any delay in the approvals

ü Communicate with suppliers and different project disciplines (procurement, engineering, logistics, etc.) if needed to obtain supporting documents to be added to the invoice payment certificate

§ To re-invoice costs to business partners

§ To assist Project Control Manager in updating budget, expenditures, cash flow and all cost related reporting with defined frequencies (weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually)

 

Knowledge and skills

§ Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Engineering

§ Experience as cost controller in large project environment (>200M$) with large and complex industrial capital projects (oil and gas, petrochemistry)

§ Diverse international experience, specifically in working with Western Owners, Chinese engineering / construction contractors and equipment suppliers

§ Experience in cost estimate/ expenses scheduling, construction budgeting

§ Minimum 5 years in similar position

§ Good written and verbal communication skills

§ Written and spoken fluency required in English & Chinese, Spanish is a plus

§ Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment (France, China, Argentina)

§ Local Chinese or expatriate in China with international industrial project exposure both considered
