Mine Planning Internship M/F_Trappes

Location:  TRAPPES,France
Contract type:  Internship

Internship Summary

The GMM, the team in charge of the technical support to the mines and mining projects at the ERAMET’s site of Trappes, is looking for a person to help in the optimization of the Mine Planning at Weda Bay. This position will be based in Trappes and will be supervised by the mine planning team of GMM.

Internship Objectives and Description

• The main goal of the internship is to deliver an optimized set of COGs in time, for Ni, Co, and eventually, for contaminants, such as the cash flow of the hydro metallurgic project of Sonic Bay is optimized.
• The initial step will be to define such an optimized set of COGs for the existing mine sequence defined by the team of Weda Bay Nickel (WBN), however it can evolve to the definition of a new set of             ultimate pit shells using a new set of COGs for Ni and Co.
• Once this new set of pit shells for some orebodies is defined, the mine sequence is then obtained and a new set of internal COGs varying in time is defined, aiming to optimize the Cash Flow.
• The initial stages will include some training in the software used for the definition of the optimal pit shells as well as some training in the module used to assist in the definition of the pit design and mine sequence.
• The next steps will be the utilization of the aforementioned pieces of software to define the pit shells, mine sequence, pit design, and waste disposal.
