Job description

 

We are looking for an Innovation Funding & Compliance Officer to play a key role in shaping our research and innovation portfolio. In this position, you will help secure strategic external funding and ensure that R&D initiatives progress within a framework of strong legal compliance and discipline. You will work at the crossroads of innovation, business units and key stakeholders through a governance process, and project development, supporting teams throughout the full lifecycle of initiatives.

 

 

Responsabilities

 

Innovation Funding :

 

  • Identify and monitor relevant funding programs at the European, national, and regional levels (including grants, tax credits (CIR), and calls for collaborative projects such as Horizon Europe, Bpifrance).
  • Identify and monitor relevant funding programs in the U.S., Australia, Africa, the Middle East, India and China, with the objective of securing funding in full compliance with local regulations and leveraging opportunities to expand our knowledge base and technical capabilities.
  • Match and manage a pipeline of such funding opportunities for the internal or potential projects aligned with the EID Innovation Roadmap and strategic priorities.
  • Prepare and support the submission of funding proposals, working closely with internal teams to ensure quality and alignment.
  • Manage Grant agreements and amendments, ensuring legal obligations, milestones, deliverables, and constraints are clearly understood and implemented.
  • Oversee technical and financial reporting in line with established requirements and support audits and evaluations.
  • Track regulatory developments and funding trends to keep the organization informed and agile.

 

Compliance :

 

  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with internal standards, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage early in all partnerships and start-up scouting initiatives ensuring the review of partnerships and collaboration agreements for compliance and risk mitigation, and driving the capitalization and structuring of start‑up knowledge within Eramet.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams on the negotiation and interpretation of research‑related contracts.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of internal policies related to R&D governance, funding rules, ethics, and compliance and to continuous improvement of internal processes, workflows, and documentation practices.
  • Prepare internal reports and recommendations to support decision‑making.

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Master’s degree or higher in innovation management, scientific, engineering, business, public affairs, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in similar seniority roles, innovation funding, technology scouting, or partnership development, ideally within an industrial or R&D environment.
  • Proven track record in preparing and managing public funding applications (e.g., Horizon Europe, Bpifrance, DOE, international ones...).
  • Good understanding of compliance principles related to research and innovation (contracts, ethics, data protection, IP basics).
  • Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with R&D, Legal, Finance, and operational teams.
  •  High level of rigor, integrity, and attention to detail.
