Do you have a passion for extractive metallurgy and digital innovation? Do you want to play a key role in the digital transformation of a major industrial group? Eramet Ideas is looking for an expert to transform our site into a "4.0" model by developing and utilizing advanced algorithms and numerical methods, combining numerical modeling and big data tools. Become the showcase and reference for digital transformation at Eramet. The role is based in Trappes, with business trips.

Due to the complexity of the processes studied, involving numerous physico-chemical phenomena and a very large number of influencing parameters, these models require a fully multidisciplinary approach (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, chemistry, data exploration, machine learning, artificial intelligence).

  • Conduct modeling and numerical simulation studies using commercial, open-source, and/or internal software to simulate the functioning of these processes.
  • Strengthen the competence and CFD tools for the modeling of production equipment at different scales, involving turbulent flows, heat transfer, and chemical reactions.
  • Manage and animate technical interfaces with other R&D teams and engineering departments.
  • Validate models by comparing them with available measurements to extrapolate calculations to unknown conditions.
  • Acculturate other EID R&D teams to Digi2M’s areas of expertise (heat transfer, fluid mechanics, high-performance computing, etc.) as well as the project teams of the operational divisions.
  • Conduct international monitoring and benchmarking in this constantly evolving field and be able to promote and implement these new techniques in our projects, managing the instability induced by these constant innovations.
  • Continuously diversify the working tools and develop skills to manage them in order to adapt to the challenges encountered.
  • Be responsible for academic and technical partnerships with laboratories and software vendors.
  • Ensure traceability and capitalization of results, communicate them pedagogically, and then disseminate them to our clients or in the context of conferences/publications.
  • Guide software/technical choices for modeling.
  • Share knowledge and best practices.
