Job description

 

The Industrial Process Safety Engineer (M/F) is a member of the Industrial Processes and Risks Department and reports to the Eramet Group Industrial Risks Manager.

 

He/she supports sites and project teams in identifying, qualifying and controlling their technological and industrial risks.

He/she structures the process safety process and associated standards.

He/she ensures that process safety issues are taken into account in site routines and operating procedures.

 

Frequent travel is required (40% of the time).

 

Responsibilities :

 

By developing a safety process approach consistent with Eramet's industrial activities, your role is to :

 

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Group's sites and operations, compile existing risk assessments on the Group's facilities (pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical plants, fixed mining installations) and identify any additional studies required.
  • Carry out preliminary and detailed risk assessments on the Group's facilities by leading or participating in HAZID/HAZOP (in English or French) and follow up action plans.
  • Help identify major accident scenarios, integrate them into industrial risk mapping and propose mitigation actions. Monitor associated action plans.
  • Participate in safety assessments in change management processes (projects, MOC, etc.) and monitor action plans.
  • Support sites in implementing industrial risk management routines.
  • Contribute to the definition and establishment of the industrial risk dashboard and participate in CTO industrial risk management routines.
  • Support project teams in choosing technologies and implementing protection systems according to operational constraints and associated risks.
  • Participate in design reviews (PID, implementation, definition of necessary Risk Control Measures) to validate proposed solutions, carry out project safety reviews.
  • Draft Group safety process standards based on standards and best practices, and assist the sites concerned in implementing them through training and support initiatives.
  • Anticipate technical and/or regulatory developments and associated industrial risks.

 

Your Profile:

 

With a technical and scientific background at Bac +5 level in industrial risks and process safety, you have over 10 years' experience in industrial risks and/or process safety, preferably with one or more successful international experiences, and have acquired the following skills:

 

  • Knowledge of standards systems and associated tools
  • HAZID/AZOP session moderation
  • Ability to teach, summarize, organize, convince and argue
  • Good networking skills with a taste for matrix and functional relationships
  • Defending the Group's principles and policies
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of regulatory and cultural environments - Intellectual curiosity.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and experience in the field of extractive metallurgy would be a plus.
  • English essential, Spanish appreciated
