Job description
Within the Hydrometallurgy Department of Eramet Ideas' R&D Department, you will organize and coordinate research or process improvement projects, from literature reviews through to implementation and validation of results. You will work on a wide range of issues at the Group's sites, particularly on lithium projects, in close collaboration with operational teams, R&D experts and external partners.
You will develop innovative solutions in the field of hydrometallurgy in response to the challenges faced by the Group's sites. Depending on the project, you may lead laboratory- or pilot-scale tests, conduct a semi-industrial operation and contribute to Eramet Ideas' international profile through Open Innovation initiatives.
Responsabilities
- Propose research programs, conduct literature reviews and targeted benchmarking, and develop the necessary technical knowledge.
- Design and carry out laboratory-scale and, where necessary, pilot-scale tests, then validate and scale up the results to an industrial level, particularly during site assignments.
- Lead the R&D projects under your responsibility, ensuring quality, deadlines and costs, by preparing and monitoring the budget and schedule, and working with the relevant technicians, engineers and experts.
- Communicate results to clients and stakeholders (reports, presentations and conferences), contribute to cross-functional R&D projects, support safety and environmental development at Eramet Ideas and, where required, supervise a small team of technicians.
Your Profile
- Education: A Master’s degree in a scientific discipline or an engineering degree, ideally complemented by a PhD or equivalent experience.
- Entry-level candidates welcome. You have a strong interest in applied research, process improvement and solving hydrometallurgy-related challenges.
- Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
- You are able to independently conduct a research project, take initiatives and drive change.
- Curiosity, analytical and synthesis skills, rigor, strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential to succeed in this role.
- You are willing and available to travel in France and abroad, to Eramet sites, suppliers and partners or conferences, or for assignments lasting several weeks, 1 to 5 times a year.
