Eramine Sudamérica SA is a subsidiary of Eramet, a French global mining and metallurgical group. It is located in the Salar Centenario Ratones, 3,800 meters above sea level, in the department of Los Andes, in Salta, Argentina.

Exploration activities started 12 years ago and at the end of 2019 our pilot plant started operating, providing a demonstration of the quality of the final lithium carbonate product, with more than 90% direct extraction efficiency. 

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER M/F

Description:

The mission of this position is to drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical support to plant operations and engineering project implementation. The role will be responsible for developing and validating Mass & Energy Balances for operational control and expansion projects, ensuring alignment between integrity plans and actual plant performance. In addition, the position will contribute to maximizing operational efficiency and ensuring the effective execution of CAPEX initiatives within a dynamic and highly complex industrial environment.

This position reports to: Process Improvement Manager

Location: Centenario Ratones Project, Salta, Argentina.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement process improvement initiatives to optimize plant operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering Department during project execution and implementation.
  • Develop and validate Mass & Energy Balances for operational control and expansion projects.
  • Ensure alignment between integrity plans and actual plant performance.
  • Provide process engineering support to CAPEX projects and operational teams.
  • Analyze plant performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and partners, such as Hatch, on technical deliverables and engineering reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with process standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to plant readiness for the CLP 1.5 expansion.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives within a ramp-up and nominal operation environment.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in process engineering roles within industrial or mining environments.
  • Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing Mass & Energy Balances.
  • Knowledge of CAPEX project execution and engineering interfaces.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and process simulation tools (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving orientation.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, high-demand, and high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders across operations and engineering.
  • Results-oriented profile focused on efficiency and operational impact.
  • Advanced English level will be considered an asset.
  • Availability to work under a roster-based schedule and on-site plant scheme.
